Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina (or Antonia) Shevchenko competes as an Kyrgyzstani Muay Thailand fighter in the UFC's flyweight division. She is older than her fellow UFC fighter and Former UFC Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko started her journey into fighting sports by becoming an Muay Thai Kickboxer. Shevchenko made her debut at her first IFMA World Championship Tournament of 2003. Shevchenko defeated Suzane McKell in the finals by unanimous verdict. Antonina Shevchenko won an additional medal in the year 2007 and a bronze medal in 2008 and a gold in 2011, and won in the position of IFMA Amateur World Muay Thailand Champion in 2016. Antonia has started her professional journey in 2003, was crowned in 2012 and 2016 the Lion Fight Lightweight Championships. The WMC World Championships were also held in 2016 and she was crowned the 2016 IFMA Muay Thailand World Champion. Antonina was last in action against Isa Tsidblad Keskikangas at the Phoenix Fighting Championship. She was victorious by unanimity. Antonina Shevchenko set the professional MMA record in 2002 during the KFK Cup of Kyrgystan in a fight with Anara Bayanova. She was victorious by second round TKO and also won her subsequent 2 fights in the WXF: X-Impact World Championships 2003 to amass a record of three-three. Shevchenko committed herself to kickboxing as she took a prolonged break from MMA. She was back in 2017, when she fought Anissa Hasdaoui. Shevchenko beat Anissa by a unanimous vote and then defeated Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. She quit the club in 2018 to join Dana White's Contender Series in 2018. Shevchenko defeated Jaimelene Nievera during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11 Antonina TKO'd Nievera with her striking skills that were superior in the final clinch by using knees on the body. Antonina was offered the UFC invitation following her win. Antonina was able to make her UFC debut at the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale, in a fight against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko beat Roxanne Modafferi in a split-decision fight after winning the first fight via unanimous decision. Antonina rebounded from her loss to knock out Lucie Pudilova by choking her back in a rear-naked submission in the second round at UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned an extra fight in the night for this fight. Shevchenko was victorious in her initial three bouts, but lost the fights to Katlyn Cahookagian Andrea Lee and Ariane Lipski. Recently Antonina fell to Casey O'Neill at UFC Fight Night Santos vs. Walker via second-round TKO.
